Hemp is described by the brand as a ‘miracle’ crop for the environment. It helps to regenerate land between food crops; is four times more effective at capturing CO2 than trees; and it uses no pesticides or herbicides to grow. The Body Shop’s Community Fair Trade hemp seed oil has among the highest levels of essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids found in any plant on the planet, making it ideal for heavy-duty hydration and defence.

The Body Shop’s 100ml Hemp Hand Protector is its best-selling SKU within bath & body. The brand has recently expanded its Hemp collection (which includes a body butter, lip protector, intensive hand butter and foot protector) with the new Hemp Soap on a Rope. This is said to deliver effective, non-drying cleansing for sensitive skin. As its name suggests, it can be hang-dried by its rope, to avoid picking up dirt and bacteria.

During March and April the Hemp collection is being highlighted at airports in Paris, Milan, Stockholm and Malaga, via the ‘Take Care of your Body from Top to Toe’ animation. The event features The Body Shop’s signature trolley, wheelbarrow and hive merchandising. Passengers who purchase any three products will be offered a travel-size GWP of a 60ml shower gel or a 50ml body butter.
