Meeks says that she wants to educate people about economic, medical, and environmental benefits of the plant that was once the nation’s top cash crop.
The site for Saturday’s rally holds significant meaning because of the historical importance the cannabis plant has played in the building of the nation.
“To be able to orchestrate an event at Mount Rushmore, it is a privilege by god. Our founding fathers, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and, Abraham Lincoln, they smoked it, they used it, they encouraged us to cultivate it”, said Meeks
Saturday’s event starts at 10 am and is free to the public.
