Since the dawn of man, Mother Earth's plant, known as cannabis aka Hemp, Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid, has helped mankind evolve into the 21st century. From food and clothing to cannabinoids medicine and hemp oil, the cannabis plant has proven to be a strong economical booster throughout history, like yesterday's Great Depression and today's Great Recession.
Why is Mother Earth's number one plant so special? Simple answer is it is a versatile plant that can withstand harsh weather conditions while yielding 10X more, within a year, than a rain forest or timber farm can in ten years. It is the mother plant of all other plants because of its properties that can be extracted from it such as cannabinoids to cure cancer and hemp oil that is highly abundant in omegas making it an excellent source for nutrition and skin care.
My theory is cannabis is the mother of all number one antioxidant for anti-aging and preventing degenerative diseases. Maybe, that's why it is so good for your health...hmmm?
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Hemp possesses very little THC or other chemical compounds that can get a person high or treat an illness. Hemp is like a weed that grows in harsh conditions. It can be harvested three times a year and recycled 10x more than forest paper. One could smoke a field of hemp and not getting high but just a strong headache. Hemp can turned into any thing one can imagine such as a hybrid car, lap top, smart phone, etc. For the past couple of decades, hemp has been commercialized to be sold as clothing, nutritional food and oil, and makeup.
Marijuana has the compound THC, which is the stuff that gets a person high and the munchies. From this strain of plant, cannabinoid compounds can be extracted for the use in MMJ or medicinal medicine to cure illnesses such as cancers, glaucoma, and arthritis.
What's all the fuss about cannabis being illegal, then? That is a whole other story for some other time. For now, let us focus on the legalization of cannabis consumerism in California, Oregon, Colorado, Alaska, Maine and more coming in 2015.
Cannabis first entered the US market, during the 90's, as medical marijuana or MMJ. Since then, many states, like Colorado, are moving into recreational legalization. Looking at Colorado from an economical factor, the MMJ and recreational markets have turned the state into a green gold mind. Everyone from techies to investors and dispensaries/edible artisans, in between, it is a wonder why the rest of the country has not legalized the industrial plant to help boost the economy, job market, and GDP.
In the last year, Colorado and California have turned their economy around giving it a surplus. The hemp market is opening this year and the first harvest will be sold bearing proudly, "Made in America." This is an important time in history for entrepreneurs, as new opportunities emerge and ventures take place.
Never in a time before, has the market and economy been the perfect storm for the inception of the legal cannabis marketplaces. By weight density, green gold nuggets are valued more than gold nuggets. Any way you look at it, rather devil's advocate or a supporter, cannabis makes economical sense that will be beneficial for the economy for decades to come.
Not only is cannabis a great economical booster, but hemp also replenishes the soil by adding nitrogen back into the soil. The possibilities are endless with what cannabis can do for everyone and Mother Earth.
