Kyrgyzstan’s State Drugs Control Service exterminates over ton of wild-growing hemp

The employees of the State Drugs Control Service of Kyrgyzstan (GSKN) exterminated more than a ton of wild-growing hemp, the press-service of the department reports.
According to it, employees of the East Department of GSKN destroyed 9 tons wild-growing hemp on the territory of Ak-Sui district, Issyk-Kul province, during the operation “Poppy 2011” with assistance of local population.
Reportedly, the employees of the South Department found out and removed “cultivated” hemp in an amount of 1 100 bushes of 826 kilograms weight in the vegetable garden of a dweller of Ak-Bulak village, Suzak district, Zhalal-Abad province. A criminal case is filed.
In Karakol city 112 roots of opium poppy, the total weight of which was more than 2 kilograms were found out and confiscated during the examination of a private house. According to fact a criminal case was filed as well, the investigation is launched.
