Missouri Cannabis Regulation Initiatives Filed Wednesday
Two measures which would regulate cannabis in a manner similar to alcohol, allow for medical use when recommended by a physician, and create an agricultural hemp industry, were filed with the Missouri Secretary of State's office yesterday afternoon.
Similar initiatives are expected to be on the ballot in November of next year in at least five other states, those states being California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington. Recent polling within the state of Missouri shows a majority of voters support medical use of cannabis and 47% support regulated legalization.
The organization that filed the measure, Show-Me Cannabis, wishes to promote serious discussion about the merits of repealing criminal prohibition of cannabis. Their website is located at: http://show-mecannabis.com.
