A Guernsey politician has told ITV News that establishing a hemp and medical cannabis industry could help improve declining horticulture on the island.
Deputy Marc Leadbeater says he's been in talks with local growers and the UK's Cannabis Trade Association over how to set up a legal sector.
He hopes to work with islanders in Jersey where a hemp farm has already been in operation for five years.
Earlier this year a change in the Misuse of Drugs Law in Guernsey meant that certain cannabis health products could be sold for the first time.
