Hemple hemp protein is changing the way we think about health food.

From the depths of The Amazon to ancient times Australian’s have searched long and far for superfoods. Chia, cacao, macha and quinoa have all infiltrated menus and aisles, and now there is a new seed set to become the next health food craze: hemp.
What is hemp?
Hemp is one of the world’s oldest crop varieties. From as early as 8,000 BC Chinese producers have used the plant’s fibre and seeds to make everything from paper to clothes. However, up until November this year hemp has been illegal in Australia. Why? Hemp is derived from cannabis. But no one is smoking anything green around here. This hemp is used entirely different.
Why are Aussies going to fall in love with hemp?
Australians are always looking for ways to inject a little bit more health into our diets. Hemp is high in pretty much everything: fibre, protein, whole grains, vitamins and minerals. An entirely vegan source of protein, just one hemp seed contains 21 amino acids, an omega 3 to 6 ratio, fibre, edestin protein for bioavailability and B vitamins, zinc and magnesium.

How can you get your hands on this wonder seed?
Hemple is here to help. The brainchild of Cade Turland, Hemple is adding a superpower punch to your superfood smoothie. Ultilising Australian grown hemp, Hemple is out to prove that the protein rich seed can be more than an acai bowl garnish.
“Hemp seeds are a naturally high source of plant based protein. So, unlike a pea, soy or brown rice protein, hemp protein needs no chemical or acidic isolation – it’s simply cold pressed and milled meaning you get the full omegas, vitamin B1, magnesium, zinc and iron benefits of the plant… plus a great source of protein”, says Cade who is super passionate about supporting Australian grown hemp and farmers.
Cade and his team have just launched, the “gut loving” Hemple, which offers a unique range of hemp-based products. With 50% protein per serve Hemple Raw is the powder to kick start your hemp addiction. Their Divine Vanilla and Morning Glory Macha flavours add additional health benefits thanks to slimming chlorogenic acid and psyllium husk. Cold-pressed and omega rich, Hemple even has its own Extra Virgin Hemp Seed Oil.
What can you do with Hemple?
Hemple can be added into some of your favourite dishes so easily that you won’t even know you are having a healthy treat. Here are some recipes made by chef Guy Turland from Bondi Harvest to try at home.
