Justice is served—and it’s ice-cold. On 12 November Australia will legalise hemp seed for human consumption, and there’s a brewery in WA that’s frothing at the opportunity.
Yep, the country’s first ever legal hemp beer is coming to town. It’s called Dr Weedy’s Hemp Ale, a collab between up-and-coming brewery Rocky Ridge and the Vasse Valley hemp farm.
"I thought long and hard about what type of beer would suit it and decided on a hemp seed brown ale,” says Hamish Coates, of Rocky Ridge.
"The result is Dr Weedy's and we can't wait to share this delicious beer with WA."
You can grab the first sip at the upcoming Fremantle Beer Festival. And for all those wondering what happens if you mix organic cannabis with malt booze...we have no idea. Probably something good.
