Colorado Hemp Co. will host the inaugural NoCo Hemp Expo on April 5 at Ricky B’s Sports Bar and Music Venue in Windsor.
The daylong event will feature speakers addressing topics on industrial hemp farming, processing, seed acquisition, state and federal legislation, research and development, hemp as medicine, and hemp’s history, present and future.
Featured speakers will include Ryan Loflin, the first U.S. hemp farmer and Colorado resident to successfully harvest a hemp crop in 56 years, and Summer Star Haske and Barbara Fillipone, owners of the Glenwood Springs hemp textiles company Envirotextiles.
Keynote speaker, author Doug Fine, will present information from his new book “Hemp Bound,” which is being released April 20 but will be available at the event for purchase and signing.
The expo also will include more than 25 hemp-related companies and organizations. It also will offer hemp-based foods and beverages and live music featuring Jason Downing from Musketeer Gripweed.
Hemp is marijuana’s nonintoxicating cousin used to make products ranging from clothing to cooking oil.
