Justine Elliot, MP visits Hemp Foods Australia
We were very happy to receive Justine and her entourage to our factory for her tour. Justine agreed to support an offer for our Premiere, Tony Abott to our factory so he understands that we are just real, hard working food (export) business and that there is nothing to be scared of. Shortly after her visit Justine posted about us on Facebook:

"Today I inspected a fantastic local business - “Hemp Foods Australia” located in Bangalow. CEO Paul Benhaim briefed me on the latest developments in the industry. “Hemp Foods Australia” is the largest Hemp food wholesaler, retailer, manufacturer and exporter in the Southern Hemisphere. The company currently employs 7 full time employees and 30 contractors. Hemp is cultivated worldwide, including in Australia and New Zealand (under strict licensing arrangements), and is currently used in Australia as a source of material production and building products. Hemp is a legal food in most countries, including Europe, Canada and the United States. It is used in a range of foods including health bars, salad oils, non-dairy milk, non-dairy cheeses, and as an additive to baked goods. Australian food laws are currently under review to allow hemp, which has no psychoactive properties, to be used as food ingredients like flour, oil and protein powder."

Hemp Farm Tours updates
Just a short note to let you know we are not continuing hemp farm tours this year as planned. We still have ongoing political work to change laws. Presuming our Ministers get the right message and follow the rest of the world, in 2015 we look forward to re-opening and expanding our hemp farm tours and education centre. Without legislative support we may have to take our jobs, money, health to another country - which would be sad for all Australian's. Want to make a difference? Write to your Member of Parliament and/ or local MP today. If you have not already, sign our petition here:

At the time of writing, hemp seeds and hemp foods are not legal for human consumption in Australia. Informational purposes for those of you in Australia. As we have a global audience recipes, nutrition and food uses are for those outside of Australia to try at home only. If you are not in Australia you may gain all the proven nutritional benefits of hemp foods and hemp seed recipes. While FSANZ considers an application (positive decision hoped for June 2014), we are only able to promote and sell hemp seeds and hemp oil for non-human consumption only. You may use the seeds as a body-scrub and the oil as a skin nutrient. They are also a good example of what we could do. Be careful though, as your skin is your largest organ we are not sure how the authorities would feel if you accidentally ingested the nutritious omega-3, 6 and 9 through your skin :)
