True Leaf CEO Darcy Bomford
Lumby-based True Leaf Medicine International has reached an agreement to produce hemp-based supplements and treats for pets.
The company announced this week it has teamed up with Wodema Industries to produce the company's proprietary products.
Wodema will provide True Leaf with manufacturing capacity to produce hemp-based chewable pet supplements, medication and treats.
True Leaf says Wodema's U.S.-approved plant gives it a currency advantage and a low-cost means of launching its own pet product line.
"Wodema has extensive manufacturing experience and available capacity that compliments our plans in the pet space perfectly," said True Leaf CEO Darcy Bomford.
"Both teams are thrilled with our agreement and anxious to hit the ground running."
The agreement also includes a right of first refusal to purchase Wodema's assets.
