5 ways cannabis products could be good for your skin

Could cannabis be the next big beauty trend? Well, it’s now being used in a range of produces available at the UK’s first pharmacy.
Carun Pharmacy’s offering includes everything hemp from mouthwash to pasta – but they won’t get you high as they are all made from non-psychotropic ingredients.Cannabis sativa extract, also known as hemp seed oil, is the magic ingredient used in the products. It contains a compound called cannabinoids, the most well known of which is Tetrahydrocannabinol (responsible for the psychoactive effects of the drug) but Carun’s hemp products only contain 0.3% of this, while marijuana apparently contains 20-38%.
According to Carun UK’s managing director Michael Taka, there are five benefits to cannabis products. And they are apparently great for skin prone to acne or sensitive skin.
Taka said that the cannabis sativa extract in their products boosts the immune system and is hypo-allergenic.

“You won’t have any reaction to the products, we treat patients for years with it,” he said. “They’re also anti-inflamatory, antiseptic, antibacterial.”
He recommends using their ointment on wounds or bites before putting on a plaster. It will lessen the risk of infection and make the wound heel quickly.
The use of hemp seeds originates from Asia thousands of years ago. It’s assumed that cannabis was the first grown crop in an old Japanese culture 5600 BC, and throughout mankind cannabis has been used in cooking in many countries. Now though, of course, we know it best as the class C drug so the cultivation of hemp seeds is strictly controlled.
