Why Green Shoes?

Because we care.

When one of Wicked Footwear’s members discovered a need in the marketplace for green footwear that was different than other companies, we created a new Wicked Hemp division and immediately began the challenging work of designing green shoes that meet our Wicked standards of good design and durability – while being green and healthy.
Wicked Hemp is proud to introduce its new eco-friendly outdoor footwear line and Eco Fashion for men's shoes and women shoes. It’s official! Our original hemp shoes are innovative, comfortable and styled– they are significantly easy on environment impact. Along with allowing one to walk in comfort and allow the foot to have constant air movement inside the shoe. Wicked Hemp shoes are especially suitable as restaurant shoes - they make great chef shoes and are perfect shoes for the service industry.

And because we can't resist a good idea.

Wicked Hemp uses Hemp on 80% of all footwear with other Eco material, such as Recycled PVU and Vegan Nubuck. We are the first company to use WOOD PULP uppers. Our Wood pulp is mechanically compressed with our non-toxic chemicals. Our vegan shoes colors are made of Eco friendly paint.
We will always use materials that are Eco/Animal friendly and low carbon footprint material.
We at Wicked Hemp know that it is critically important to reduce our carbon footprint. We use materials do not require harmful chemicals to help grow and are rapidly renewable. Whenever possible we work with recycled materials.
All Wicked Hemp footwear is Vegan!!

Why Hemp?

We’re paying attention.

Hemp (Cannabis Sativa) has been grown for thousands of years all over the world for textiles, fabrics, paper, fiber, medicine, oils and fuels. The reason for this is that Hemp is a rapidly renewable resource that can be grown in different climates and soils. Hemp does not require pesticides or fertilizers to grow. It is one of the strongest natural fibers, naturally resistant to mold, mildew, salt water and UV light.
The U.S.A. used Hemp fiber until 1937 when it became illegal to grow. Then during WW II farmers in Kentucky and other Mid-Western states were allowed to grow Hemp to help the war efforts. During the war Hemp was grown for clothing, rope, plane parts, and other textiles. Farmers were allowed to grow Hemp until the war ended.
Today manufacturers and retailers are bringing Hemp back to the market places because Hemp is such a versatile plant. With products from footwear, clothing, food, fuel, to building supplies.

We also use wood pulp.

The Wood Pulp that we use is from hemlock, pine, and spruce. The thermo-mechanical process goes from chip to an extrusion of compressed fiber strands. Then made into basket weave pattern, and painted with Eco friendly colorings.Wicked Hemp is focused on finding and using the best quality materials that will be strong, comfortable and environmentally friendly. We will be adding more eco fashion styles with a variety of organic and recycled materials.

"I have been wearing hiking shoes my whole life in the Tunra. I purchased your Wicked Hemp Path Finders and have never had such a comfortable boot as this. More to my surprise was how the hemp material held up against the rough terrain just around my home. Thanks Wicked Hemp. "
