We all have a thought or two on marijuana, but if an informed opinion is what you're after, The Witch’s Brew Café/Pub in Palm Harbor is hosting a Free Monthly Educational Series on Hemp & Cannabis starting today at 6:30 pm.
The 8-month series will repeat on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and run through October. Each month will highlight a certain facet of the issue: 1) Marijuana as Medicine, 2) Economics of the Cannabusiness Industry, 3) Politics of getting it Legalized, 4) Spiritual/Recreational/Creative Uses, 5) History/Heritage of Cannabis, 6) current and future Laws/Regulations, and 7) the opportunities with Hemp.
Each gathering will showcase a documentary or talk show on the subject to be followed with discussion. The first meeting will showcase the film “Should Grandma Smoke Pot?” One of the presentations each month will be a screening of an episode of The Captain Cannabis Show, an Internet talk radio show dedicated to the Hemp & Cannabis industry in Florida. Described as a human encyclopedia on Hemp and Cannabis, Captain Cannabis interviewed The Witch’s Brew owner, Lesley Klein on his first show in 2014. After watching, attendees can ask questions and voice comments. For more information on the Medical Marijuana Amendment, go to UnitedForCare.org.
In addition, Each meeting of the “Learn About the Herb” series will feature a sampling of a hemp products sold at The Witch’s Brew: Hemp Hummus, Hempseed Chocolate Chip cookies, Hempseed Brownies, the Peace & Love Potion with raw shelled hemp seed, and Capt. Cannabis’ Kronic potion with Hemp Seed protein powder. Hemp seed is considered a superfood with .001% THC. It is a complete protein with all 21 Amino Acids.
