LEXINGTON (March 14, 2017) — The Kentucky Hemp Industries Association (KYHIA) will hold its 3rd KYHIA Annual Conference 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 21, 2017 at The Red Mile.
This is a great opportunity for people interested in learning more about the hemp industry in Kentucky, as well as a chance for industry professionals to network and discuss hot topics and continue their education. University researchers and leading industry experts will present on a variety of topics including hemp research, education, legality, legislation, commercialization, and more.
There will also be a Legislative and Legal Lunch to discuss all of the pressing legislative and legal hemp issues. The panel will include Jonathan Miller of the Kentucky Hemp Industry Council, Matthew Smith who works with the Hoban Law Group and Campbell & Smith Law, and Colleen Keahey, Exec. Director of Hemp Industries Association (HIA).
The Red Mile’s catering staff will prepare a hemp-infused lunch with hemp provided by KYHIA member and local hemp foods company, Victory Hemp Foods. Menu items will include hemp heart encrusted seared salmon with wilted kale greens and herb roasted potatoes among other dishes.
Following the Annual Conference, the KYHIA will host a Hemp Happy Hour from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at local brewery, Rock House Brewing where their new hemp ale will be released. Attendees of the Conference as well as the general public are encouraged to meet, talk hemp, and try the new hemp ale.
This educational and networking event is open to both KYHIA members and non-members who may be interested in getting involved in or supporting the emerging hemp industry in Kentucky. Tickets for KYHIA members are $50; non-members are $75.
