Houston Boles spent part of Wednesday harvesting hay from four fields along USS231 near Monroe Rd in Meridianville.
The machine he is using forms "round bales" 4'x5' which each weigh about 1000 pounds. The hay made from fescue and other grasses will be used to feed cattle.
After the machine gathers the correct amount it winds the round bale with hemp rope and then opens up and the completed bale rolls out the back end to await being pickup up and taken to the barn or other area for storage. (The Huntsville Times/Dave Dieter)
(blogger's note: We should be harvesting hemp like this)
