(SALEM, Ore.) - Portland will be host to a special event this Saturday, a panel discussion on the topic of industrial hemp in America featuring Gatewood Galbraith, Paul Stanford; and Casper Leitch.

Whether you support the grand ole party, the Teapot Party, Tea Party or any other party, the opportunity to participate in this discussion is well worth your time, and that of your friends for that matter.

2011 Kentucky Gubernatorial Candidate Gatewood Galbraith; Executive Director of Campaign for the Restoration and Regulation of Hemp (CRRH), Paul Stanford; and Time 4 Hemp Radio Host Casper Leitch are coming together to give the Northwest a chance to get all the facts on hemp. The down and dirty details of who, what, and WHY.

Gatewood Galbraith has a lot to share, and his skeptic nature is sure to stir up some governmental changes across the United States. He has a way of starting a conversation that you will find we all have a voice in. A conversation that matters.

The hemp panel event will be raising funds via donations to support Galbraith's bid for Governor in his home state of Kentucky. He is campaigning as an Independent, free from any party affiliations. He describes himself as “free from hidden agenda”, and has pledged to end the "synthetic subversion" in his state.

Oregonians will find Galbraith an intriguing speaker, whose message rings true from coast to coast. He has been an attorney concentrating on Criminal Law and Serious Personal Injury for 30 years, and has always supported the restoration of industrial hemp as an agricultural commodity.

Galbraith has many supporters, including country music legend Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson said, "I am a longtime friend of Gatewood Galbraith. We crossed Kentucky in a car that ran on hemp fuel one time when he ran for governor.”

Willie Nelson is the creator and spokesperson of the newly formed Tea Pot Party. He officially announced the group’s first endorsement for a U.S. political race: Independent candidates Gatewood Galbraith and Dea Riley for Governor and Lt. Governor of Kentucky.

“I think the teapot party should back him this time. He is a good man and will do a good job," Willie Nelson said. "I've known him a long time. He and I believe the same about a whole lot of things and I think you'd believe a lot of the same things as he does."

The Galbraith/Riley campaign’s focus includes a regional approach to Economic Development, advanced Energy Development (Bio-Industrial Development) Industry, Education, integrated progressive Technology advancement and appropriate stewardship of Natural Resources.

“My view is that government’s role should be to uplift, enlighten, educate and ennoble the citizen, not oppress them with taxation and intrusive laws.”

“A culture of corruption has developed within our leadership and only those who “pay to play” are accepted in inner circles or allowed input,” Galbraith said. “We have continued to elect the same candidates time and time again into the same offices or new ones, while our standard of living grows worse.

Galbraith said that he came to the realization in 2007 that “neither party is capable of producing a candidate who can solve the problems. Therefore, our only hope is to elect an Independent who puts the People before the Parties."

He says that it is the only way to serve the agenda of the people and not get caught up in partisanship, bickering and cronyism. "I will freely give credit and blame to those who deserve it most."

The panel of experts on industrial hemp will be a valuable resource for anyone interested in the past, present, and future of hemp, and what it means to our country -and to the world.

Having Galbraith, Stanford and Leitch together is an incredible feat, a unique appearance not to miss.
